My Portrait Philosophy
Perfectly Imperfect. Human.
"Happy moments are great! But they aren't the only thing we remember or should remember. We are far from one dimensional and that deserves celebration." A big proponent of collaboration between client and photographer to create strong and often emotive images, his backgrounds in both film and education have aided in the understanding of and communicating through the photographic process.
"No matter how much you plan there are always those moments when things just fall through. Surviving those. Coming out on top of those is a real charge of the creative batteries."
A portrait photographer born and raised in Alberta. Arjay attended the University of Alberta for Education specializing in Humanities. In 2007 he graduated at the top of his class from Vancouver Film School.
He has traveled to parts of SE Asia and lived and worked abroad with his wife of eighteen years. They are currently living in Strathmore, Alberta where Arjay makes his career in film, instructing, and photography.
